About me
Shay Beezley (she/her), Assistant Director of Metadata and Cataloging at University of Central Oklahoma's Chambers Library, leads a team of six catalogers and up to four student employees in providing accurate, effective and timely access to library resources. As someone that the DiSC assessment describes as “driven, results-oriented, challenges the status quo,” Shay brings a decade’s worth of experience as a highly creative cataloging department manager and is the creator of the award-winning Metadata Justice in Oklahoma Libraries & Archives Symposium that is hosted by Chambers Library and executed by members of her team and colleagues in UCO Archives & Special Collections. Outside of the library, Shay enjoys practicing her amateur photography skills, dabbling in various crafts from embroidery to zine-making, visiting museums (especially art museums and small, niche museums) and checking off "Places Visited" on Atlas Obscura. She currently serves as MPLA's Communications Committee Chair and the Professional Development Committee Co-Chair.
